Simple, natural and hearty produce at Rockleigh Cafe Coolangatta


Food and coffee is what owner Ben Moffitt of Coolangatta’s Rockleigh Cafe is most passionate about. It’s a love affair that has led him to discover a recipe for success that keeps customers wanting more - exciting seasonal menu updates backed by consistent quality.  


The food speaks for itself with an emphasis on simple, natural and hearty produce. Just reading a popular dish on the all-day brunch menu gets the mouth watering - Breaky greens with quinoa and brown rice, charred kale, avocado, truffle oil, walnut chilli crumb and poached egg. For the sweet tooth - waffles with baked chai apple, shortbread crumb, maple syrup and ice cream - droool.


Ben loves the change of seasons when exciting new fresh produce becomes available inspiring a change to the menu or a new twist on a specialty that hasn’t been done before.


As for coffee, the cafe’s blends and single origins are constantly changing. The cafe runs a house blend called Monte Carlo which is light and floral with hints of candied citrus and chocolate, and also features a single origin that changes each month.


Ben says the locals keep on coming back because the cafe is all about consistency. 

“Our menu and specials are always changing but we’re consistently putting out quality food and coffee and I think that’s what locals have now come to expect from us.”
