Craft House Bar & Restaurant - all about the taste

It is the desire for quality that distinguishes the Craft House Bar & Restaurant from the crowd. The produce is cooked fresh and the beers are chosen with love. Passion exudes in every detail of this venue, from the exquisite cutlery and glassware to the fine standard of food and drinks.

Situated centrally in the hip and cruisy beachside town of Tugan, Craft House is now the place to go for highly awarded and unique beers on tap and is becoming an institution for craft beer on the Southern Gold Coast.

The beers are on constant rotation and chosen from a wide variety of local and national breweries. Owner Chris Sharples explains, “we want to celebrate all the new and fascinating beers that Australia is producing and let our locals enjoy them. We love tasting them all too! There are a lot of breweries opening up every year, more and more I discover each week. I think that once someone enjoys their first craft beer, they have started a journey. It’s all about the taste. From a Pilsner to an IPA, to a stout, to a sour, they all have their own unique characteristics and appeal to a variety of different tastes.”

The cocktails are crowd-pleasers too. The popular Pornstar Martini is literally a smoking cocktail garnished with half a flaming passion fruit - fruity but not too sweet and topped off with an Italian Prosecco. For something a little different, a must try is the ‘Devils Mojito’ - especially if you're into spice as this cocktail packs one heck of a punch! They start with your basic mojito, then mix in lychee liquor, fresh lychees and plenty of chilli.

On Tuesdays, they host ‘Taco Tuesday’, with Margarita jugs all day and $5 tacos from 6pm. Taco flavours include Scallop Ceviche, Pulled chipotle pork belly, Jerk BBQ chicken, Smashed falafel, Roast Salted Beets with Halloumi and Panfried Salmon. YUM!

On Wednesdays, they have a $32 Steak and beer special. The steak is a 300g Scotch Fillet and the beer is a rotating weekly special. All steaks are Nolan Private Reserve and served with fries and salad.

The weekend special is $19.95 for the ‘Craft House Lamb Ribs’ and a beer. The lamb ribs are a signature dish served with chilli, garlic, szechuan and ponzu.

In exciting news, Craft House will be hosting monthly ‘Tap takeovers’ and ‘Beer and burger’ lunches. During the ‘Tap take over’ days, there will be great food and drink specials, giveaways and the opportunity to meet the brewer. The ‘Beer and burger’ lunches with breweries will feature one signature beer per event and during the promotion customers get a free beer with any burger purchase.
